Shelby Lafferty

Shelby Lafferty has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Currently, she is pursuing a Coordinated Master’s Degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She’s gaining a knowledge base and skills needed for effective practice with individuals, families, and groups involved in the criminal justice system. In her Master’s Program, she is also pursuing a Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care. She aims to be a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma in adolescents and young adults. She gained experience at Camp Reunite and Camp Hometown Heroes providing mindfulness and mental health promotion activities virtually. She is excited about providing a warm and welcoming space without judgement, to collaborate, and to work through her client’s concerns. She will customize treatment to match her client’s goals.
